Valmeinier is part of the famous Galibier-Thabor ski area, which includes the resorts of Valloire and Valmeinier.

Valmeinier is a charming ski resort in the heart of the French Alps – Savoie. Together with the neighbour resort of Valloire they form the ski are of Galibier Thabor (150 km of ski runs). The resort of Valmeinier consists of two villages – Valmeinier 1500 and Valmeinier 1800. For our stay in Valmeinier we will be accommodated in Valmeinier 1800. At 1800m altitude, the village retains it’s traditional aspect with new buildings that blend in with the local architecture and protected within the Mont Thabor nature reserve.

The ski pass from the package for this week covers the whole Galibier Thabor ski area and in addition gives an option for a free one-day skiing in Les Sybelles ski area (310km) and for one day of skiing in Val Thorens (additional fee applies).

NOTE: Please, keep in mind that in order to keep the prices at such a low level this trip differs from a normal tourist trip in a way, that you will be provided with all the needed information in advance and it is mainly your responsibility to take care of yourself. The representative from Marmoto will be together with you to help you in particular situations, where you might need additional assistance, but she/he will not be in charge of organising you for the week of the stay.

For the week in Valmeinier we will be staying at Le Thabor residence. The residence offers simply furnished small apartments. In most of the apartments you should expect different sleeping facilities: normal single beds, double beds, bunk beds, sofa beds. Every apartment is having a fully equipped small kitchen corner. You can find all the needed kitchen devices (hot plates, fridge, microwave/grill, dishwasher, etc) plus all the needed utensils. 

Bed linen and towels are provided in this residence. Free parking around the residence. Free Internet access in the apartments. Ski lockers are also available for the guests.

The  Le Thabor residence is situated just 50 meters from the nearest ski runs. The village center with all the bars, supermarkets, restaurants is walking distance from the residence. The residence is having open air hot water swimming pool (included in the price) and spa with sauna (€ 5/day).

2p5 is a 2-rooms small apartment for 4 or 5 people with the following parameters:

  • – 28 m2
  • – Living room (2 pull-out beds, TV, dining area, kitchenette, balcony)
  • – Bedroom (double bed)
  • – Other (bathroom/toilet)

The small kitchen is equipped with hot plates, microwave/grill, refrigerator, dishwasher, utensils.
*The equipment and bed types might slightly vary in the different apartments

2p7k is a 2-rooms small apartment for 7 people with an extra sleeping area with the following parameters:

  • – 34-40 m2
  • – Living room (2 pull-out beds, TV, dining area, kitchenette, balcony)
  • – Bedroom (double bed)
  • – Extra sleeping area (bunk bed)
  • – Other (bathroom/WC)

The small kitchen is equipped with hot plates, microwave/grill, refrigerator, dishwasher, utensils.
*The equipment and bed types might slightly vary in the different apartments

All the apartments are having vacuum cleaners and other cleaning facilities and at the end of the stay the tourists are expected to clean after themselves. There is also a cleaning fee payable on site if you are not willing to clean after yourselves. The tourists are expected to treat the furniture and the equipment responsible and all the damages and losses are being fined.

For travelling to France you can use either our buses or your own transportation.

The bus travel package includes:

  • travelling from Sofia to Valmeinier and back
  • one day trip to Les Sybelles ski area (optional)
  • one day trip to Val Thorens ski area (optional)
  • all the highway and tunnel fees

When using the bus you are allowed to bring with you:

  • one set of skis or snowboard
  • ski poles
  • one boots' bag (both for ski or snowboard boots)
  • one large bag/sports bag/backpack/suitcase for the luggage compartment of the bus
  • one small back pack for inside the bus

The bus travel from Sofia to the resort takes usually around 24 hours. The buses travel following a strict schedule connected with the shifts of the drivers. The buses stop every 4 hours. 

NOTICE: The consumption of alcohol in the buses is highly undesirable!

No, there is no payment at the time of booking. Once you finish the booking you have to pay the deposit within a week after submitting the booking, but not later than the deadline of the respective booking period.

In the main package price you get the accommodation and the ski pass for the whole stay. The apartments which we use are sometimes quite small, but at the same time they are always located exactly at the ski slopes.

Yes, you can book some of the bed as empty ones and this way we will not put any people there. Usually the price is around the price of the deposit itself. The exact price of the empty bed is written in the Prices section of the respective event.
If you would like to have such places, just book normal places (with ski pass included) and just before finalizing the booking write down in the comment field that you want an empty place. After that we will manually reduce the price to correspond the empty place.

Breakfast is not included in the price, but all the studios and apartments are having small kitchens where you can prepare your own food.

Yes, the ski pass for Valmeinier is also valid for Valloire for all the 6 days. The ski pass includes also a free day in the ski area of Les Sybelles (310 km) and it gives you the chance to ski also in Val Thorens agains a fee (30€/day).

Yes, there will be an organiser from Marmoto on site for this trip.
