IMPORTANT NOTICE
For travelling to Switzerland you can use either your own transport or travel by plane to some of the near-by airports. Marmoto does not offer organised bus transport.
Before the trip we will provide detailed information with instructions for the people travelling by cars.
Below you can find information for travelling from the near-by airports to Thyon.
From Geneva Airport (GVA)
- Take the train from Genève-Aéroport to Lausanne or Sion (direct or with one change).
- If in Lausanne, change to a train to Sion.
- From Sion, take a PostBus or taxi to Les Collons / Thyon 2000.
Approx. travel time: 2–3 hours
Trains run frequently from Genève-Aéroport. In winter, check for direct ski shuttles. Book a private transfer if you have late arrivals or heavy luggage.
From Milan-Bergamo Airport (BGY)
- Take an airport bus to Bergamo city or directly to Milan Centrale.
- Take a train Milan → Domodossola / Brig → Sion.
- From Sion, take a PostBus or taxi to Thyon.
Approx. travel time: 4–6 hours
Connections can be long. Check late-night arrival options — private shuttles may be better for evening flights.
From Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS)
- Take the Rhônexpress tram from the airport to Lyon Part-Dieu (~30 min).
- Take a train from Lyon Part-Dieu → Switzerland (often via Grenoble / Valence / Chambéry) → Sion.
- From Sion, take a PostBus or taxi to Thyon.
Approx. travel time: 4–5+ hours
Rhônexpress tickets are separate. Train routes to Sion may require 1–2 changes. Check SNCF and SBB for schedules.
